ASSE Hawaii members may make their own Address Change < (click here to do so) on line, you will need your member number to do it. If you don't know your membership number - check the label on your Professional Safety magazine for it. |
Some of the benefits, products and services you will receive by joining ASSE
ASSE provides a comprehensive education program through the Societyfs Professional Safety Academy (PSA). The PSA is the career partner of the participants, providing high quality educational experiences based on the needs of the profession. The Society is a significant publisher of technical and management treatises and offers a variety of print and electronic resources supporting the profession. Approved by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), ASSE is an authorized provider of continuing education and provides continuing education units for its education programs.
Education programs include our:
- Annual Professional Development Conference and Exposition (PDC)
- Annual Management Symposia (winter/spring);
- Hot Topic Symposium on emerging issues (fall);
- SeminarFest: An annual collection of safety seminars (winter);
- Management Seminars to support the ASSE gCertificate in Safety Managementh and the Certificate from the gExecutive Program in Safety Managementh;
- Examination Preparation Workshops to support professional certification;
- Self-Study Programs; and
- On-site seminars exportable to clients and corporations
Joining ASSE
ASSE is a not-for-profit, multi-disciplinary professional organization of trained practitioners responsible for protecting people, property and the environment. Whatever your role--safety director, loss control specialist, industrial hygienist, environmental health specialist, technician, educator, etc.--ASSE has services to help you achieve better results on the job or in your career.
Qualifications
for membership
There are five different classifications of membership in
ASSE.
Professional Member-requires:
PE registration, CSP, CIH, CHP, CRSP or IOSH, RSP certification PLUS 5 years safety experience, or
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university PLUS 10 years safety experience
Member-requires:
Current employment in safety or one of its relevant specialties
**Student Member-requires:
Enrollment in an accredited college degree program intended to prepare one for the practice in the safety profession or one of its relevant specialties
Declaration of intention to enter the safety profession or one of its relevant specialties
NOT presently employed as a safety professional and therefore not eligible for consideration as a regular member
**Emeritus Member-requires:
Fully retired from gainful employment in the field of safety by reason of age or vocational change, and not currently deriving income from the practice of safety including consulting in safety or a related field
Be sixty years of age or older, unless retirement was due to health, or physical disability
Having been a member of the Society for at least ten years, no longer employed in the field of safety, and shall be a member in good standing at the time of application
Associate Member:
For those who provide services to the safety profession or who cooperate with safety professionals
**Student and Emeritus members are eligible for a subscription to the ASSE's monthly journal, Professional Safety, at a reduced subscription rate.
